What is almond milk?

It is a simple, natural drink made from almonds. The almond milk can be extracted as a beverage or as a milk. The milk is completely plant-based and non-dairy. The extract is made solely from rich almonds and water.

This product is non-dairy, low in calories, and is a great substitute for milk-based products like yoghurt and milk.

Most people use milk or yogurt to make smoothies. However, this can increase calories and cause damage to the body. High-calorie smoothies can help us feel full, without increasing our appetite, but they may not aid in weight loss.

I wanted to share some almond smoothies that are healthy, low in calories, and help you shed some extra pounds.

How to make almond butter at home

Almond milk extraction at home is very simple and straightforward. You just need to soak the almonds for at least 5-6 hours in enough water. Drain the almonds completely after they have been soaked.

Next, add the soaked almonds to a blender jar. Then add water to the almonds. Use the almond to water ratio in a 1:14 ratio. For example, if we have one cup almonds, four cups water is needed to extract the milk from them all.

Blend the almond mixture and water for a while until you have a fine milk texture. Strain the milk and throw away the pulp. This is a quick and easy way to make almond butter at home.

You can store the milk in an airtight container up to 4 days. Then, you can use it for different purposes.

Note: Blending almond milk with almond peels gives you more creamy and white almond milk.

You can easily find store-bought milk in supermarkets. There are many varieties of this milk, from pure to mixed. Do not use sweetened milk as this can increase calories.

Almond milk vs cow’s milk

Both non-dairy milk and dairy milk are healthier. However, it is essential to keep track of calories if you want to lose weight. Almond milk can be substituted for smoothies by being a drink that is mixed with water.

Although cow’s dairy is healthy and rich in vitamins, the carbs and calories found in milk can be quite high. Almond milk is the best choice to make beverages.

Lactose, which is found in cow’s dairy milk, can cause health problems for people who are lactose intolerance. If the lactose found in cow’s milk is not suitable for consumption, it can cause bloating, gas and other digestive problems.

Almond milk is therefore free of lactose, making it a great replacement for non-dairy-based milks.
